The Big Smoke: Curators of Conversation

In 2013, renowned media buff, Alexandra Tselios, took matters into her own hands. We sat down with her in Sydney to learn how she put the breaks on the nose dive public conversation was taking in Australia.

“I created a platform that would cultivate the multitude of voices in our society that were actually articulate writers. They were quite intelligent and well spoken people but they weren’t journos,” she explains.

“That’s what The Big Smoke is. If you come to the site be prepared to be challenged, be prepared to be angry, be prepared to agree, be prepared to offer your own opinion,” says Alex.
